Vital Changes

Meet Eugenia Vasquez

Welcome and thank you for your interest in my practice.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who believes that effective counseling addresses not only the mind, but also the body and the spirit. I am originally from Venezuela, but have called this country my home since 1988 when I came to pursue a college education. After receiving my Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications from Colorado State University, I went through a series of life-altering experiences which influenced my decision to pursue my true interest of helping others. So in 1999, I went back to school and received my Master's degree from Adams State College in Counseling Psychology.

Since then, I have worked with a variety of populations including the homeless, individuals of different sexual orientations and identities, adults with substance abuse issues and mental health disorders. For the past six years, I have worked as an Employee Assistance Consultant providing services such as Counseling, Consultation, Training, and Coaching to Managers, Union representatives and employees.

Therapeutic Focus:

My philosophy of Counseling is based on Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution-Focused and Positive Psychology principles. However, I feel strongly that it is not just the technique that helps people heal and change; but instead, it is the therapeutic relationship created between the therapist and the clients. I am committed to partnering with you to identify and cultivate your strengths in a comfortable and non-judgmental environment.

In addition, I am bilingual with native fluency in Spanish and a member of the American Counseling Association.
